So what exactly is Jiu Jitsu?
We teach a modern form of the traditional Japanese martial art Jiu Jitsu, which simply described is:
- A system of defensive techniques, which use an attacker's momentum against them
- Traditionally based - with spectacular traditional throws
- Locks, strikes and throws adapted for modern day contexts
We believe the Jiu Jitsu Foundation - as a founder member of the National Governing Body (NGB) and largest single style in the UK - has something to offer everyone. Whether you're the 'I've never set foot in a gym in my life' type or a total fitness fanatic, the best way to see what we're about is to come and have a go yourself.
