What a month July has been! A huge congratulations to everyone who has recently graded. It takes real effort, courage and commitment to step onto that mat, and I hope you came away feeling proud of your jitsu and a renewed motivation to continue your journey. We've just returned from Edinburgh, where 20 of our most senior jitsuka have undertaken their dan gradings - a major milestone that reflects years of training, discipline and personal development. Dan gradings are never easy, and it's always inspiring to see people push themselves to their limits. Congratulations to the following people: Shodan
Desmond Bali
Alex Trusselle
Lucia Moreno Huang
Ross Dell
Nidan
Ruth Chalton
Luke Bishop
Paul Timmers
Chris Henderson
Kieran Lawson
Sandan
Craig Byrne
Simon Pickersgill
During the Summer ball, we also celebrated some of the fantastic people who make our community what it is. This year's Club of the Year was awarded to Moorgate Jiu Jitsu Club, Best New Instructor went to Sensei Callum Dixon and the Instructor of the year went to Sensei Tom Dugmore. Please join me in congratulating them for their incredible contributions. Our next virtual town hall is coming up this weekend (20th July) so f you have any questions, ideas or just want to get a deeper understanding of what's happening in the TJJF, this is a great chance to join the conversation. Finally, a reminder that while University term time might be wrapping up, many clubs continue training over the Summer. It's a great time to work on your jitsu in a more relaxed setting. If you're travelling, check out the TJJF website to find a club near you. That's all for now - take care, keep training and I hope to see you soon! Warm wishes, Eric Law
