What a fantastic time November has been. If you’re new to the Jiu Jitsu Foundation, a very warm welcome. Each month I’ll be sharing an update to celebrate our clubs across the country, highlight upcoming events and offer useful reminders on how to get even more jitsu in your life. I hope you’re already experiencing what makes this #TJJFCommunity so special.
Speaking of events, what a brilliant weekend - the Atemi Nationals was beyond what I was expecting! I had goosebumps from all of the energy, positivity and enthusiasm radiating across the mat. The training was great (even I picked up a thing or two). The skill and determination on display in the afternoon was exceptional, but the kids stole the show. Every time I see them, I’m so excited for the next generation of jitsuka.
To Gareth, Mia and Alice, I’m sure I’m not alone in thanking you for your tireless efforts in organising these events. Without you, they wouldn’t be possible, so thank you so much.
Whether you loved the weekend or couldn’t make it; don’t worry. The next Nationals will be 2-3rd May in Birmingham, and the Summer Ball on the 11th July in Newcastle. The weekend is just a warm up for things to come, and we’re going to keep working to make these events even better. We’re always keen to hear your feedback (positive and negative) so please get in touch.
With the Atemi’s in the rear view mirror, it’s time to start focussing on gradings and applying all of that hard work. Whether you’re revising your syllabus, ready for that first grading, or pushing for a senior kyu grade, keep training hard, support your fellow students and enjoy the journey. There’s nothing quite like finishing the year with a well-earned new belt.
I love this #TJJFCommunity and I’m so proud we can all come together, sharing in this amazing martial art and celebrate our successes. Keep spreading the word, posting updates and I'll see you soon
Warm wishes,
