It's nearly the end of August already! I hope you're all enjoying the summer. Although we're out of the hectic exam-time period, many clubs are keeping the mats busy with summer training sessions. It's a great chance to polish your skills in a relaxed setting, try out new techniques and stay connected with your friends. For anyone thinking about their next belt, you don't have to wait until December - there's potential to grade in the summer if you're up to it. Speak to your instructor to see if you're ready and if now might be the right time. A big thank you as well to everyone who joined our virtual town hall last month. It was great to see so many members engaged with what's happening across TJJF and contributing ideas for the year ahead. I'd also like to highlight Simon Pickersgill, who'll soon be delivering a virtual club committee course. Training like this helps keep our organisation strong, ensuring our clubs are supported by their SU and have the knowledge to keep running smoothly. 📅 6-8pm 14th September, Virtual For those 1st Kyu and above, we also have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) coming up. Highly recommend you join, check your inbox for details. And finally, a reminder that freshers' week is just around the corner. This is always an exciting time of year, with lots of new faces stepping onto the mat for the first time. I still remember my first session (just about!) and how welcome I was, and what made our community so special. That's all for now. Enjoy the rest of your summer, keep training where you can, and I look forward to seeing many of you back on the mats soon! Warm wishes, Eric Law
