It’s so great seeing all the Freshers Fairs, taster sessions and socials happening up and down the country. It brings a big smile to my face when I see so many new people enjoying our style of Jiu Jitsu and getting to know each other off the mat. The #tjjfCommunity is going from strength to strength.
Our next big event, the #atemis2025, is less than a month away. I cannot wait to see all my old friends and make some new ones along the way. It’s a great weekend of training, competitions, demos (and, of course, the evening event too), so make sure to book your spot. It’s going to be brilliant and you won’t be disappointed.
It’s also been great to see our higher grades dust off the cobwebs and attend the senior sessions too. Whilst the focus has been on recruitment and welcoming new members, it's important to make time for your own training. With the focus being on recruitment drives and welcoming new members, they are a great opportunity to train. For our Green and above Jitsuka, we have a national Syllabus Course on the 15th November in Aston, Birmingham. This is led by the Technical Board, where they will set out the training priorities for the year ahead what will be focus this year to come. This is a fantastic chance to train with some our best instructors.
A quick reminder to all our #dandidates… The deadline for all Shodan and above 2026 gradings is 31st October so please ensure you get your nomination forms into the Promotions Board by then.
